 In Sanskrit, "aṅga" (अङ्ग) primarily means a limb, part, or section, 

while "skandha" (स्कन्ध) refers to an aggregate, collection,

or cluster, to describe a composite of elements.

Aṅga (अङ्ग)

Definition and Usage:

Physical and Gestural Limbs: 

Aṅga commonly denotes a limb of the body (head, hands, chest, sides, 

waist, feet) and is central to the classical Indian dance tradition, where 

āṅgikābhinaya describes gestures using these major limbs

Some sources also include the neck (grīva) as an aṅga 

Linguistic and Literary Division: 

 In literature and performance, aṅga can refer to subdivisions or elements 

of diction in poetry or stagecraft, such as pauses (viccheda), recital (arpaṇa),

and abatement (praśamana) 

Religious and Ritual Sense: 

In Vaishnavism and Shaktism, aṅga can denote a part of devotional practice 

or a sacred sanctuary (pīṭha)

In Sanskrit grammar (Vyakarana), aṅga represents subdivisions of mantras

or rules, forming a linguistic limb of texts

Linguistically, skandha can mean bulk, mass, cluster, trunk, or stem,

referring to collections or heaps in Vedic and classical texts 

Applied Uses:

 In Shilpashastra and other technical disciplines, skandha may indicate 

specific parts of a body or structure, such as shoulders in dance (minor 

limbs, pratyaṅga), stems of plants, or other divisions
